On this CD Ela plays 17 of his unique instruments - more than a dozen of which make their recording debut on Tone Pond. 14 tracks comprise 70 minutes of new and original compositions with titles such as "Eddies," "Song to Stone," "Seedpod Mosey," "Eye of the Storm," and "Longing of Landscape."

From the haunting melodies of the "Stamenphone" (a 16 string harmonic sculpture played with a cello bow) to the whirling soundscapes of the "Rumitones" (spinning percussion instruments) and "bellwheels" (revolving xylophone sculptures), this recording is an evocative journey into the unique musical world of Ela Lamblin. Not only did Ela compose and perform the music, he also designed and built each of the 15 instruments used. In addition, Bill Moyer provides tabla and percussion accompaniment.

John Cage, Tom Waits, Stomp, Aphex Twin, Lou Harrison, Peter Whitehead, Ellen Fullman, Uakti, and others. The forward is by Robert Moog.
